      The Prieuré de Sion ([pʁi.jœ.ʁe də sjɔ̃]), translated as Priory of Sion, was a fraternal organisation, founded and dissolved in France in by Pierre Plantard as part of a supposed hoax, though numerous researchers claim the secret society still operates.. It was this same sense of vigor that later allowed Napoleon to replace the Republic with the First French Empire.
